I will resist. This is a very important song in Pedro Almodóvars movie Atamé, 1989. It is also a very positive message, It is like Gloria Gaynor’s „I will survive!“ but in spanish and less revenge focused, but more: I will survive against all circumstances. I love the movie Atamé. Listen to it and get a translation, the text is important and it is a nice song.

Altough I’m an old Neil-Young fan, I don’t now much about him. This guitar on the Dead Man soundtrack fascinated me and a friend of mine gave me the CD back then.

Today I heard this Buffalo Springfield tune in my head and began to investigate. Steve Stills and Neil Young were members of this band. This song is genius. Just listen to the lyrics, and the guitar.

Now I’ve watched several documentations about Neil Young on Youtube. Very interesting.

„Von wem is’n des?“ Nichts fiel mir ein, bin ja nur der DJ. – „Von Bananarama“ war dann meine Antwort nach einen Blick auf den Bildschirm.

Nun, zwei Wochen später, hab ich gegoogelt: Bananarama haben 1986 einen Song der niederländischen Band: Shocking Blue gecovert, den diese 1969 veröffentlichte und der schon damals ein Nummer 1 Hit war (USA, Schweiz). Stock Aitken Waterman (Dead or Alive, Rick Astley, Kylie Minogue) haben den Song produziert. Im „Stars on 45 Medley“ (1981) wird der Originalsong ebenfalls kurz angespielt.

Mein Gott, wie hat sich dieses Medley in mein Hirn gebrannt. Das war auch in der Hitparade damals und ich 13 Jahre alt.

Österreichische und deutsche Medien überschlagen sich mit der Falschmeldung: „Neil Young stellt alle Alben gratis zum Download ins Netz“.

Natürlich wollte ich sofort alle mp3’s downloaden.

Nix da mit downloaden, man kann sie gratis streamen.

Neil Young hält den gängigen 320 kbit/s Kompressions-Standard bei Musikdateien (mp3) für nicht gut genug.

Nun bietet er unter http://neilyoungarchives.com

sein Oeuvre zum Streamen an.

Das ganze funktioniert nur online. Mit einem Schalter kann man zwischen 320 kbit/s und Xstream wechseln. Ich meinte einen kleinen Unterschied zu hören.

Liebe Medien. Download und Streamen sind zwar irgendwie ähnlich, aber dann doch wieder nicht.
